A Conversation with God

A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.' The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.' Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.' 'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' and God replied, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.' 'Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.''But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.' At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.' And God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'

Korbyn's 1st Cold

Wednesday night Korbyn and I went over to my friend Sheena's house to give her some baby clothes Korbyn has outgrown. Her best friend Heather was there too and they just had a blast meeting Korbyn for the first time and asking questions about giving birth and all the jazz. When we came back home Grandpa Jim noticed that Korbyn's heartbeat seemed a little faster then normal. I didnt think anything of it but the next morning he had a stuffy nose and was coughing. He had a mild temperature of 99.3 and i just chocked it up to his teething. As the day went on Korbyn got worse and worse so i made an appointment with Dr. Lane for today. Poor little guy could hardly breathe last night because his nose was so stuffy and his eyes were all glassy and red. His appointment wasnt until 3:30 this afternoon but he slept pretty much the whole day until then. He had a temp of 99.9 at 11:30 this morning so we gave him baby tylenol and he was fine until his appointment. Turns out he just has a virus that will go away on its own but we do have to put saline drops in the nose and suction out all the crud in his nose with the suction bulb and use a humidifier at night.

Being a new mommy i was expecting the worst and worried sick about him all night last night and all day before his appointment. Grandma Heidi was a little worried to because Bubba had RSV when he was around the same age as Korbyn and had to be in the hospital for a week. She came with to the appointment to make sure her baby was ok! Now we just have to wait it out until it goes away......poor baby!

3 months old

Yesterday Korbyn turned 3 months old! It seems like he has been here WAY longer then just 3 months but at the same time i can't believe MY BABY is 3 months old!!!!! The last time he was weighed was on January 6th when he got the rest of his 2 month shots. He was 16 lbs 2 oz. He def has had a growth spurt since then and he feels like he weighs about 20 lbs!!! His infant car seat goes up to 22 lbs so just to be on the safe side i went and got him a convertible car seat that he can use now and then turns into a forward facing carseat when is over 35 lbs and then converts into a booster seat he can use until he is 80 lbs.

I just can't believe that he has almost outgrown his little carseat!! We had to take the pad that goes under his butt and then one that goes behind his head out cus they were just in the way and it was hard to get him out of his carseat!!! The straps were at the highest point but after we took the pads out we moved them down one level so he has a little more room.

It seems like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital and he just looked so tiny in that carseat and swimming in his newborn size clothes!

Korbyn has ALWAYS had big feet and hands but i didnt realize how much his feet really have grown since he was born. His first shoes were a pair of gap crib shoes in size 0-3. They were a little tight because he has chubby feet and only fit him for about a week. Right now he is wearing size 2 and it just about ready to start wearing size 3. His feet fit right to the end of these nikes that my friends Amy and Daniel gave us. He wears the same size shoes as my sister's neice Kyah who just turned 1 on New Years Day.

He is very very strong for his age!! Hes just about to start rolling over. He rolls over on beds and sofas or anything soft but not on the floor. He gets his hips and legs twisting but his top half wont move then he will get his top half turning but his bottom half wont move. He just needs a little more work.

Hes almost ready to sit in his Bumbo too! I keep putting him in it every once in a while but after about 10 minutes he gets tired of holding his head up! He loves sitting in it though he just thinks its the coolest thing ever!! (You can Really see how big his feet are in these pics!)

He LOVES to stand up and pretend like he is walking. Hes been standing up (with help) for about a month now. He likes to be pulled up from laying down to sitting and then sitting to standing.

Hide & Seek??

Korbyn usually takes a 15-25 minutes nap every 2 or 3 hours. When he cant fall asleep he gets a little cranky so i rock him in the rocking chair and hes out like a log! The past week he started doing this thing where he buries his head under my armpit.

I guess thats just one of those quirks that are coming out with his personality!

My New Best Friend...Baby Neptune!!!

Grandma Heidi got Korbyn the little baby eintstein turtle (Baby Neptune) that has teething parts on his hands and feet for Christmas. Korbyn thinks he is pretty cool or something because EVERY time he spots it he is just mesmerizes by it and you can't get him to look away! I even tried showing him his bottle...the boy loves his food..and that didnt work!!! I first noticed this when i attached it to his carseat with some linky rings. He usually doesnt like getting put in his car but he was so focused on the little turtle that he could have cared less.
Then i decided to set up his Baby Einstein jumper, that my friend Amanda Cherry and her mom Shelley got for Korbyn. I attached a bunch of toys to it...one being baby neptune and once again he couldnt take his eyes off of it!!!!!!!








I bought another one at target that is a dog since he loves chewing on the hands and feet. There is just something about the turtle that he loves because he just plays with the dog like its no big deal but whenever he sees the turtle you cant pull him away from it!!

Korbyn & Lachlin

Last Night our good friend Gina Bradley came over with her baby Lachlin. We've known the Bradleys for about 5 or 6 years and they have the stinkin cutest kids that look just like their dad Shaun. They actually bought or old house out on North River Road from my parents. It was really good to see Gina. I havent really talked to her in a couple years just seeing her here and there and saying hi real fast.
I love seeing Korbyn with other babies to see how he will react and to see how much of a difference there is between just a few months of age. Lachlin was sitting up and scooting himself along the ground. He LOVED playing with Korbyn's little jungle gym. (its good to know that it will still entertain him for a while!!)

Korbyn is pretty big for his age and Gina's babies are always pretty small. Her purpose of coming over besides finally meeting Korbyn was to bring over some baby clothes that Lachlin has outgrown. Well...none of the clothes fit!!

Lachlin is 7 months old and Korbyn is only a little over 2 months!!!!!!!! Gina was suprised to see how BIG Korbyn was and i was suprised to see them next to each other! Korbyn is filled out a little more with his huge belly and head but Laughlin was a little bit longer.

Little Flirt

Today i took Korbyn in to get the rest of his 2 month shots. He got his 2nd HepB shot and the rotavirus one that he has to swallow. He was in an extra good mood this morning before we went and at the clinic. It was just Korbyn me and the nurse that was giving him the shots. He was all smiles when we went into the room. He kept staring at the nurse with a permanent huge smile on his face and everytime she looked at him he would giggle and stick out his tongue. About a week and half ago everytime i give him a kiss he sticks out his tongue and licks me like thats how he is kissing back so i thought it was hilarious he kept sticking his tongue out at the nurse. She gave the rotavirus liquid to him little by little and every time he would get more in his mouth he'd go "mmmmmmmmm" and laugh like he was showing off for the nurse.

It reminded me of when my sister was home. Her and I were playing with Korbyn on my bed before we went to sleep and everytime we asked him if he liked girls he would start smiling and laughing. So i decided to see get the camera and see if he would do it again and sure enough he did it again! I think babies are smarted then we really know!!

Looks like Korbyn is gonna be a little Ladies Man!!!

My Muscle Man

Korbyn loves tummy time its one of his favorite things to do. Because of the Holidays and my family being home Korbyn has been held a lot more then normal and not had time to get in his tummy time excercises...im sure he doesnt mind the extra attention!! On New Years Eve day we were putting a puzzle together on the coffee table so i layed him on the floor next to us so he could get some tummy time in. He usually just rotates his head from side to side and then gets tired after a while and starts sucking on his hand but this time was Different!!! I layed him down and put his arms down by his sides so he would actually get some excercise getting them back up by his head and not just start sucking on them. I looked away to do the puzzle for maybe a minute or two and when i looked back this is what i saw...

That was the First time i had ever seen him get his head up that high!!! He wasnt wobbly at all either so i immediately went and grabbed the camera and of course took a bunch of pictures! Hes been doing it everytime i put him on his belly now and he is only 10 weeks old. I love my little Muscle Man i cant wait to see what he suprises me with next. :)
